PREA offers its members access to educational opportunities, timely research and the people at the forefront of the industry through a variety of mediums such as its conferences and events, publications, research initiatives and member interaction.

PREA conferences feature high quality educational sessions and speakers that cover today’s critical issues as well as opportunities for interaction and dialogue between investors and managers. Annual conferences include the PREA Plan Sponsor Real Estate Conference and the Spring Conference. Great emphasis is placed on maintaining the integrity of the events as “no-marketing” venues and the conferences are regarded as a major meeting for the institutional real estate investment community to exchange ideas and information.

CEO Leadership Forum
In 1999, PREA introduced the CEO Leadership Forum, an invitation-only event designed to improve communication between the top decision makers from the consulting, investment management and investor communities.

PREA Institute
Conducted in cooperation with major universities and real estate centers across the U.S., the Institute is designed to deepen member understanding of the academic aspects of managing private and public real estate investment portfolios. The curriculum is taught by both academicians and practitioners, blending theory and practice for a balanced understanding of the relevant issues.

Affinity Groups
Affinity groups meet at the Spring and Fall Conferences. Each group is dedicated to a particular area of focus and is comprised of PREA members who have an interest in that area. The goal of these sessions is to spark candid, interactive dialogue in order to provide another opportunity for members to engage in smaller group discussions.

PREA Quarterly
The magazine features timely and insightful articles on a number of issues confronting pension fund investors, economic and investment analysis and interviews with prominent business leaders. Regular columns track current legislative and regulatory events in Washington DC, the public real estate markets, global real estate markets, the capital markets and investor perspectives.

PREA Research
Beyond conference programming and events, PREA encourages and sponsors research in a number of ways that are coordinated and evaluated by the Director of Research and the PREA Research Committee. Recent reports by PREA deal with topics including private real estate options in defined contribution plans, institutional perspectives on real estate investing, and the international comparative study of the pension plan community and real estate investments. PREA also annually publishes the PREA Investor Survey, a survey of the investment activities of PREA plan sponsor members, and the PREA Research Review, a collection of reviews of major academic papers published each year. PREA sponsors a special biennial real estate issue of the Journal of Portfolio Management. PREA joined forces with NCREIF in the formation of the Real Estate Information Standards Board, and is also a founding sponsor and the administrator of the Real Estate Research Institute (RERI), an industry group that encourages academic research.

Industry News Blast
PREA members receive daily email blasts providing the titles, brief summaries and links to news articles related to property investment currently appearing in the real estate media or popular press. They are a convenient one-stop source for information about developments in the industry.

PREA's webinar program was conceived to expand our existing educational programs by offering members up to the minute discussions with industry leaders on timely topics utilizing a different content delivery medium.

In an effort to enhance the membership experience and to elevate the level of personalized interaction between its members, PREA is launching a series of regional summits. These meetings will give you the opportunity to discuss today's most pressing investment issues and concerns with your peers.
